Conduit Reports and Instrument Location Drawings

Conduit Reports and Instrument Location Drawings

I am wondering how many users find the Conduit Markers and Reporting tools
useful and if so how are you using it. Conduit Reports/Wire Pull Reports take
an enormous amount of time for each of my projects and for me, the existing
tools do not decrease that time.

I have attached a sample Instrument Location Drawing. Instrument Location
Drawings are common within industries and show the locations of instruments,
junction boxes, panels, motor control centers, etc. Since Instrument Location
Drawings are plan drawings that are for the installation of instruments they are
also convienient to show conduit, cable routing to each instrument and panel.

How do you create drawings and documentation that show the following?

At this point in the job, the installer needs to know what cable/wire to pull,
where to pull it to and how to label the ends so that the next guy can terminate
it.

Consider:
- much of the drawing shows a PANEL with many, many electrical devices inside
connected to a field devices
- instruments shown as a box on the location drawings are already shown else
where schematically inside the project. For example, TE6007 is a 4-wire RTD
connected to an intrinsically safe barrier and I/O card inside Pnl-2.
- electrical items may show up in multiple locations throught out project:
Schematic, hydraulic,P&ID and location.

I would appreciate any feedback as I am trying to generate interest in this
