adding hatch patterns...

I'm simply trying to add hatch patterns to ACAD 2008 Mechanical.  

I've searched my entire hard drive, and got 1 location for each of the files,
acad.pat and acadiso.pat:

C:\Documents and Settings\mneesley\My Documents\Matt Neesley\New
Folder\Software\AutoCAD 2008\en-us\Acad\Program
Files\Root\UserDataCache\Support

This is the ONLY location that was found.  I've added the patterns in the file
at the end where it says to.  

Can someone tell me WHY on earth the new patterns aren't showing up ANYWHERE in
ACAD???

(Of course, this stupid message board won't let me attach the pattern files
