I noticed that nobody answered.
I don't know the cause, but a couple of notes:
Running out of main electronic memory (e.g. "RAM") causes PC's to slow
down but generally does not cause crashes.
The most likely cause is the 2 programs trying to use the same block of memory
in which case I don't know how to fix.
Less likely, but worth checking out is the possibility of a piece of your RAM
being bad. You can get free tester software on line to check this.
