I spent years trying to run Maya on a mac in a PC enviroment and ran into so
many issues with script and plugins and file incompatabilites. Things are
getting better, but you still spend too much time making things work together.
However, now you can have the best of both worlds since Macs went intel. I
triple-boot osx, 64-bit linux(fedora), and xp all on my macbook pro. It out
renders the high performance HP xw9300 workstation I have at work. So rest
comfortably buying a Mac, especially a Mac Pro to run Maya. But buy it from
Apple's refurbished page, you'll save some $$$.
