Hello. I am fairly new to Maya and just upgraded to a quad core system. I am
rendering with MR and I'm curious if all four processors are being used for
rendering. The Output Window Says "got two satellite CPUs". Does this
mean
MR is using the satellite and not the 4 local MR plugin licenses? Not sure
how to tell what is being used for rendering and how it is being used. Under
batch render I have both use local and use network boxes checked. Does MR
automatically use each local CPU as a separate render node or do I need to
do something to initialize this? Thanks very much for any help.

Interestingly enough, mine says "got 8 satellite CPUs" --this on a
quad core
system. One thing's for sure: MentalRay burns through Global illumination
renders about 180 times faster than my old Athlon XP 2600+. Stuff that took
a full day now renders in under a minute for the same scenes/projects.
Windows Task Manager shows activity on all four CPUs when Maya is rendering
with either Maya or MentalRay.
I've often wondered why MR shows twice as many processors as are in the
