Foliage causes VIZ 2007 to crash.

Foliage causes VIZ 2007 to crash.

Can somebody please help me?

I have just installed my new VIZ 2007. Now every time I try to create an
extended AEC "foliage" object, the program crashes. I have
un-installed and
re-installed the program several times, but it still crashes. It is calling
an Application Error. I don't know what to do.

I would suspect a video driver problem.
Does the crash occur if you switch to Software or other driver?
(Customize/Preferences/Viewports...Choose Driver). I just tried
creating one with no problem; using OpenGL.

I have an NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce 2 Pro video card. I have updated the
driver. I have purchased Registry Mechanic and have completely cleaned my
system registry. (I never had this problem with VIZ 4 and I thought VIZ 2007
was trying to call some keys from my previous VIZ 4 installation.) I have
changed my graphics mode from Software, to Open GL to Direct 3D...but it still
crashes.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times, but it still
crashes.

And check this out...I just downloaded and installed Bionatics EASYnat for VIZ
2007 and the program still crashes. The program starts to create the object but
then calls an Application Error.

My VIZ 2007 was an upgrade from VIZ 4. It is a stand alone install. My
processor is an AMD Athlon XP processor, 1.11GHz and I have 768 MB of RAM. (Old
machine but still works).

Any Autodesk guru's out there? Please, any and all suggestions are greatly

Download and run memtest, it sounds to me that you have a bad memory.
Happened to me once.

And for what it's worth, I've had many different versions of Viz--at one
time version 2, 3i, 4, 2005, and 2006 installed on the same computer!--
and never had a conflict as far as I know.
