Thanks Tim... But I have tried every variable. The problem occurs when you
link 3DSOLIDS, and always ocuurs, no matter what settings you choose. Native
ADT objects work fine. Any Solid created in AutoCAD 2002, 04, 05, 06, 07
will fail.

Thanks for you quick response.

Have a good one!
Cheers
Ren :)

There is a check box for that in the File Link Manager, Advanced tab. Just
in case you didn't know.

Well I hate to confuse the issue for you but I use AutoCAD solids
exclusively everyday and I have no problems. I currently use AutoCAD 2005
and VIZ '07.

Hi Tim,

To take ADT out of the question, I had a friend using AutoCAD 2007 create 2
files, the origonal 3dsolid wall, and the same file with the wall resized
and saved. Linked the original file to Viz 2007 and applied a material with
UVW mapping. On reloading the file (the revised file, or even the original),
the material and UVW mapping were still both lost. Tried ALL variations of
the file-link variables, with all the same result... ALL mapping and
materials lost.

The last response I had from the AutoDESK tech's (over 4 months ago) was
that they also recognise that it occurs on some systems. Which probably
means that I have no other option but to give the software back to AutoDESK,
get a full refund, and buy different software, say Vray.

The sad thing for me is that all I want in Viz 2007 (from Viz 4) is the
'Xref Material library'... If I ever get a chance to use it.

Cheers
Ren :)

It makes no sense to me that a software should work for someone, me, and not
someone else, you. I'm sorry to hear about your frustrations and hope that
you find a solution that works for you.
