| A question for you SketchUppers out there... |

Hi, I have occasionally attempted to export a SketchUp model into 3DS format and
then import that into VIZ, but generally the model becomes useless. I have
searched the architved threads here, but I was wondering if anyone can suggest
pretty good way to bring in the model and not have to reapply every material. I
must be screwing something up in the sequence. (Oh, and I do NOT want to
retrace everything with VIZ splines....I'm sure it creates a cleaner model, but
I want to finish this
while I'm young.)
I am using SketchUp 5.0; VIZ 2006, Vray 1.5xx
Attached is a sample of what I can produce with a material override material.
Thanks in advance all.

Could you elaborate on "useless"? Is it flipped normals, distorted
geometry, what?

I had problems exporting 3DS meshes out of Vue, always seemed to mess them up.
The only solution I could find was to export as a VRML model and this imported
fine.
