WMPLib_TLB unit generated by WMP ActiveX control

I posted recently about TMediaPlayer and I've since discovered the WMP ActiveX
control and I now plan to use this in my application.

Couple of queries if anyone has time.

1. My version of Windows Media Player is version 9.0 and the control works fine
with that. Will it also work with the latest monster version of WMP? I did
download it but deinstalled it because my relatively ancient computer couldn't
really cope.

it should be fine however, it's not uncommon for MS to break backwards
compatibility so if you *need* it to work under WMP11 I would test it.

time for a new PC ;)

code and I wonder if the WMPLib_TLB unit is source code which isn't generated
with lighter versions. The query is relevant because I plan to distribute my own
source code for my freeware( hobbyist thing) application. I'm not quite
knowledgeable enough to judge but I think I'm right in believing that, quite
apart from copyright considerations, there wouldn't be any point in distributing
a copy of WMPLib_TLB because all the GUI stuff would be different?

definitely best to let developers generate their own version and provide
