I tried with pTelnet instead, and I now get an OK answer
after I issue an AT command. I tried connecting the
modems, but I end up with NO CARRIER, which seems
better than No DIAL TONE, so I assume the ATA and ATX0
commands did some good. Time to solder a powered line...
