| Feed Reader - Medium Trust Level |

Hi,
Is there anyone who was able to add feeds urls and use the feed reader feature
in Medium Trust level environment.
I tried it out in 2.0 and was unable to make it work, in 2.1 Beta too it throws
a below given exception
Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.WebPermission, System,
Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.
Although this is not specific to Community Server as it's the trust level
configuration that determines what an application is allowed to run. Generally
the Shared Hosting environment uses Medium Trust and so I am unable to use the
feed reader feature.
Any help or alternative way will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

For 2.0, it won't work due to Medium trust because I think WebClient object had
to be used. But for 2.1 it should work but I don't know if it's implemented for
new 2.1 Beta 1 version or will be made to next versions.

The wizard says that cs 2.1 b1 works on ASPnix in medium trust mode.
cs.reszler.org/ is his 2.1 beta 1 test bed

Hi Nick,
I have locally installed the CS 2.1 beta and specified the Medium Trust level in
my web.config to check whether I am able to add the feeds but unfortunately it
doesn't.
Will this be available in CS 2.1 RTM version?
Although I completely understand that it's not an issue/bug with CS, this has to
do with the way .Net CAS. However I would hope some alternate way will be
provided by the CS team to make it work in Medium Trust Level.

Hi Nick,
Probably ASPNIX are having a custom trust level, if it is Medium Trust Level it
should definitely not work.
I am pretty sure about this because as per the Medium Trust level the classes
like WebClient, etc are not allowed to be used.
