What is the function of Reader in CS 2.1 when there is a site mirroring feature?
I added a RSS URL using Mirrors page and it is working but when I added the URL
using Reader it is not working and pulling the posts.

Reader is actually a "Reader". It's purpose is independent from
mirroring. It works as same as other online Feed readers such as NewsGator,
Bloglines or Google Reader.

Thanks but let me explain the question in detail
I added few RSS feeds using the Reader panel from the control panel dashboard
but it is not getting reflected on the home page of the site.
How can my users view the content from those feeds?
I'm confused regarding this issue.

Not sure of it showing up on the main page, but you can go into aggreagted feeds
and add a feed to have it show up in the roller. Or multiple feeds for that
matter.

But how do you get the Roller to show up as a tab?
