My little CS server seems to be not sending email. I have the free personal
edition - what is the best way to test and track this down. I want to be sure
it is sending the email, then I can verify that spam filters aren't blocking the
email.

I think it would be good if you take a snapshot of your email configuration page
(after removing the private username/password for email account and replacing it
with stars) to let us see what's wrong.

I don't think this has worked since moving to CS 2007. In the past when there
has been a problem I can see something in the exceptions list. Nothing shows up
now. My settings are pretty default. I have tested sending email via telnet
/smtp from the server where CS is running and that works no problem.

Is email not available with the "Express" edition now?

Email should work in the express edition . I'd suggest that you open up your
CommunityServer.config file and in the Core element, find
"enableExceptionLogging" and make sure this is set to true, after
making this change, make sure to 'touch' your web.config file so the changes
stick. Then on your stie goto Administration > Reports > Exception
Reports. Wait for 15 minutes so the email job will execute then report back if
there are any exceptions in the event log relating to emails (make sure to tick
'show unhandled exceptions).
