| Argh! Help w/ Database/Site Setup Info-Transferred Hosts |

Hi,
Question re: transferring a database.
I just changed hosts (changed my DNS nameservers already), & have been
running a CS platform for about a year.
I transferred my .BAK database file, and it was set up on my new host.
Problem is my new host says they have no idea if the site is connecting to the
new database w/ them or old database externally ( I haven't erased out the old
account w/ my old host), & they say without going the community server code
on my site, they can't know where the database is pointing to.
Where do I check in the code in my CS application to see who the database is
connecting to? (I'm running CS 2006)
My site is working, but I need to be sure it's pointing to the new host before
I make any further changes to the site, if not the daily database saves will be
useless, & I risk losing changes to my site once I erase out the old
account.
THANKS!!!

Well the first place would be to take a look in the connectionstring.config,
that will tell you which db the site is looking at.
Or create a test blog post on the new site and take a look where it shows up.

Can you tell me where i should look to find the connectionstring.config?
The site is now pointing @ the new DNS servers, so I don't have 2 sites
running, I only have 1 (It's now sitting with the new host) , thus a test blog
post shows up as normal.
The issue here, is I don't know if the site is connecting to the new host's
database or the old database from the old host. How to figure that out?

You can find the connectionstring.config in the root folder of your website/CS
installation. In there you will see the name of the server (or IP), username and
password, and database name it is connecting to. If anything, the server name
will be different.
