it may happen due font customizations in Windows Display Appearance Control
Panel applet. Try to set the font size to default values by choosing some
preset appearance scheme.
The display driver version or some window enhancer utility (such as
XFilesDialog, etc) may influence too. Try to unload every tray utility. Try
to update display driver (beta drivers sometimes are better, try them if
there are any for your display adapter, nVidia has currently one -
ForceWare162.18, others may have too)

I seem to be having this very funny problem.
Dialog boxes do not appear at all or are partly obscured ....!!
I am attaching the screensave - JPG format -
see the <<Ok>> and <<Cancel>>
tabs,
they get cut, in some other dialog boxes they are getting cut such that I do
not get to click on them altogether
and when I try to change the width of the underline in text, the box never
appears.
Any help wud be appreciated.
Regards
Murtaza

Nothing has changed in the system since the last year or so, its basically a
workhorse, no frills machine.
The display driver has been the same since maybe when i bot my monitor and
upgraded my system around 3 years back
Like I said, no frills, i use this comp for work only.
On my system : Corel 11, PS 7, AcdSee, HP Scanner software, DSL Modem,
Languages - Eng + Arabic,
AVG Free Antivirus, Yahoo Messenger, RealPlayer
10, WinAmp 5, Nero 5, IE6, Firefox 2, OutlookExpress 6 and a lot of fonts
etc
I changed the display settings in the control panel to Windows Classic, but
the problem persists.

Go into Control Panel and open Display/ Settings. You need at least
800x600 screen resolution. If you haven't changed anything in three
years, it's time to re-install. If the settings in Display are not what
they should be, re-install the video card drivers. If that doesn't help,
look into replacing your video card. I assume you have a card. If the
video is on the motherboard, try re-installing the motherboard
utilities. If that doesn't help, then buy and install a seperate video card.
