Quirky Font Display

I need to use a syllabic true type font called Pigiarniq. It is for 
Inuktitut text. The installed font family works fine with MS Word but not 
with Corel products (CorelDraw, WP X3, PhotoPaint). The Pigiarniq font 
displays text in roman orthography and not in syllabics. Another syllabic 
font called Oldsyl works fine. Unfortunately this font lacks bold and italic 
styles.

Thoughts and opinions?

I discovered the issue. It has to do with unicode support. Corel and 
Wordperfect to not fully support the unicode standard. I understand 
CorelDraw 12 supports some but not all unicode fonts. For Wordperfect to 
support the standard would require a complete rewrite of the program.
