Corel X3 crashes constantly in Vista

Corel X3 crashes constantly in Vista

I have the latest version of the software that is supposed to support Vista.
I cannot perform the simplest operations. Can't save, dialogue boxes are
blank except for a large "X".

Do you have the Service Packs installed?

IIRC, SP2 makes Corel compatible with Vista.

I have the same problem, only it just started this past week or so. I have
Vista Ultimate x64, and Vista Business x64 installed on a Mac Pro, and I
have the CDx3 installed on both systems. The one on the MacPro has been
installed for a shorter time than the other machine and it works fine there.
I can't install the SP1 or any other SPs as it says it can't find the
original program. I read the instructions on the TechSupport and did what
it said to do, copied it to the C:\ root and such, but, got the same error.
I have tried it on 3 different machines, installed on a 32bit machine with
Vista Ultimate x86, as the x64 bit will run 32bit programs, but, some are
installed in a separate Programs File folder on the C:\ drive, Programs File
(86), and that is where the CDx3 is installed. That is why I tried it on a
32 bit machine and I still get the same error. I can't install the SPs, or
even the hot fix, even on the 32bit. I can't change the install software of
the SP1 to tell it to look in the right Programs Files folder where the
Corel files are stored, and it won't even recognize them in the right folder
on the other vista machine.

So it looks like I'm TS out of luck unless someone has a workaround. :-(
The odd part it, it has been working fine until just recently, but, and I
don't know what happened that it now won't work.

Jan :)

I found that I have the 13.0.0.739 build, that is why the SPs won't install.
