Font Outline on PDF Export

Font Outline on PDF Export
Tue, 1 Apr 2008 12:58:39 -0600
On a small project, we noted that text outlines are NOT properly rendered
when published as a PDF document. In this case a 'Gift Label' included two
styles of text within a single paragraph text frame. Half the text was
simply black text and the other half, in a different font, was designed with
a red outline. However, when published to a PDF documet, all the text in
the text frame included a red outline.

Has anyone else seen the problem? Is there a work-around? Thanks for any
help.

Does it help if you convert the text to curves?

Yes and I sent it up to Corel.

Hello Kellett,

Not sure, but converting text to curves just might help. I will give this a
try. As you may have noticed from reading this thread, David Milisock has
also confirmed this as a problem and has apparently contacted Corel in this
regard. Hopefully, it can be corrected so that we do not need any
work-arounds.

Thanks,
Richard

Thank you, David, for the reply. It is nice to see that someone else has
observed this anomaly also. Since posting this message I have found that
the problem is not consistent. After making some edits to the file, a later
conversion to a PDF did not display the same symptoms. Nevertheless, I have
saved both copies of the file. If you find a solution from Corel, we would
certainly appreciate a reply and explanation.

Thanks,
Richard
