Well, this is probably way too late for your deadline, but the only fix for
this is to put the text above the bitmap. I presume that the bitmap is
transparent or overprinted in some way? This causes any vector objects
underneath the bitmap to be rendered at a low resolution for some reason.
This is a known problem that has been around for a while and still exists in
X4. I understand the dev team is aware of the problem, but whether it's ever
going to be fixed is another matter. It's probably a forgone conclusion that
it won't be fixed in X3 ever.

Hi guys, I am outputting some newspaper ads to PDF that are in CMYK. I
have an image that slightly overlaps text and where they are close
together, the text has gone very pixelated. Whether I have the text and
graphic on same or different layers makes no difference. I've also tried
re-converting the image to bitmap within Corel, but no help.
I'm sure I've this problem discussed previously but none of the old
messages are visible on the server.
Newspaper deadline is an hour away. Please help?

How disappointing that even X4 hasn't addressed this.
