It may be a problem with antialiasing along the edges of the bitmaps and/or
the way the print driver is handling it. Have you tried converting all of
the bitmap pieces into one? What printer? Can you post a screenshot?

It's more than likely an anti-aliasing problem. Are you creating the
bitmaps in Draw or importing in your bitmaps? If you flatten an object
in Draw with anti-aliasing turned on, the side and bottom edges will
turn a lighter color becasue it has been anti-aliased. Corel swears this
is how it is supposed to work but every Corel user on the planet has
trouble with this. Regardless, you can use the shape tool (f10) to bump
the nodes over until it covers the lightened edge. Then flatten the
bitmaps again without anti-aliasing. Try it and let us know how it works
out.

| Joining Bitmaps in CorelDraw sometimes leaves a blank or white line on seam |

Dear all,
Thought:
"Do I need to somehow "weld", or something, the bitmaps
together?"
Problem:
When placing bitmaps beside eachother in CorelDraw, a thin join line
(blank-white) appears in the print process no matter, it seems, what you
do.
Method:
Had occassion to mirror the edges of a bitmap onto itself, say some 50mm of
each side copied and then pasted and then mirrored and then placed beside
where it came form originally. Using either snap to objects or snap to
guidelines. Guidelines in master layer could pre print even be turned off
completely.
Made a group of the five pieces (original rectangular bitmap and four
mirrored bits). Did it in such a sequence that there were no little squares
left at the vertices of the original rectangle.
Problem Detail:
Then looked at it in print-review and there in some (and only some) areas,
there were join lines (blank-white)- even if you pulled one of the mirrired
areas back under the original so that they overlapped in the original before
going back to print preview!
You could even place a Yellow rectangle shape behind the bitmaps and it
would NOT show through where the join gaps were!
And it prints like that with little whitelines (blank areas) in some joins -
but not on all joins.
Now I realise that PhotoPaint is Corel's raster editor, but why does
CorelDraw do this - had it happen many times?
Work Around:
I have had to 'bitmap' the group and then take it OLE into PhotoPaint and
clone the "seams" to get rid of this gap.
Any hints please on how to avoid having CorelDraw do this?
Do I need to somehow "weld", or something, the bitmaps together?
Running Corel X3 (up todate), XP pro (up todate).
