If you will supply details - version of WP, OS and any patches, which printer
and how attached, any network details: that will help.
If you will explain how it is possible for WP8 to lock up when Saving,when you
say that it locks up on Open, that will help.
If you will type your reply as I type here: that will help too. ALL CAPS is
regarded as equivalent to shouting.
Does this (whatever it is) happen with one file or with all?

Sorry about that, new to the list. no patches are installed, I am sure that
this has something to do with it, but I do not know where to download any,,,
do you. that may be a good place to start.
I am running windows XP pro. and yes when the save or open window opens the
program locks up (just the program) and this problem happens on all files..

Has this happened since you installed Corel 8, or is it new behaviour?
You can try to set the compatibility for it to an earlier operating system
....
Right click on the icon, choose Properties/then the compatibility tab.
