Corel Draw 10 key issues

We are having an issue:  When you go into a corel draw 10 drawing and go to
add text, when you hit the spacebar it jumps to another function...  We
cannot use the spacebar when adding text.  We tried to change the key
combo's that include the spacebar but this is not successful.

Please assist.

Spacebar should switch between used tools, but it should work as space when 
the text tool is active.

If the text tool is active and it doesn't work as should be, probably you 
have a corrupted workspace.

Close and open DRAW. If it doesn't work, close DRAW and hold F8 while 
restarting. Return the application to default when asked.
