| Draw 9 not responding |

I've been using Draw 9 for years with no problem, but recently it has
been crashing quickly and consistantly, freezing, and when I go to the
Task Manager it shows that the program is "not responding." After
waiting a couple minutes it doesn't come back and if I "end process"
Corel deletes all information in the file, leaving a blank sheet.
Occasionally an error message comes up-- the "Unexpected error
message",
but no other clue as to why it stops "responding." Im on XP Sp2.

F8 doesn't seem to help. It did change the workspace, but soon as i
opened a file it locked up. Tasl manager shows 100%cpu usage and Corel
as "not responding." No error message or any other indication of what
is going on or what is causing it.....

One thing to check is the default printer. I seem to recall
reports that if Draw could not access the printer, it would get
hung up. The problem was especially common with people using
networked printers. You might install a postcript driver as the
default printer to see if that helps.

I gather you've been using it on XP for a while without problems?
First thing to try is pressing f8 as your booting up Corel.
This will reset Corel's configuration to its default.
You will lose any custom workspaces so you may want to save your current one
first.

Great memory, Ken! Wow, I'd forgotten completely about that!
PDFCreator (not to be confused with PDF "space" Creator) has an
excellent dummy PS printer that I use more often than my inkjet, and
that I seem to have fewer problems with than the .PDF export from
versions 9 through X3.
