Since using the the horizontal and vertical stretch handles distorts a
rotated ellipse, I use the Ellipse (Shape) tab under Property Manager to
adjust the sizes of ellipses. Make sure the non-proportion button (lock
symbol) is enabled before sizing.

Hi Cathy, thanks for that!
I just tried it in Designer 12, and maybe I don't get what you're doing.
I have an isometric ellipse, on either a front or side projection, and
when I adjust, say, the minor axis dimension, I get the same result as
stretching a vertical handle, and the major axis dimension similarlyonly
adjusts the horizontal as by stretching.
What steps are you performing to adjust the major or minor axes of a
projected ellipse?

I see your method works okay on actaully "rotated" ellipses that are
drawn
on the ortho plane. It's just Designer's unique projected ellipses that
lack the same ability. And of course, these would be the ones we use
most!!

Tom:
I see what you mean. Must have been an oversight on Corel's part, because I
agree that having this ability is even more critical when working with
projected ellipses.
