Hello Tad,
I got your e-mail but answer here for the benefit of all.
I use TD12, but also there the position is centered. As far as I know (I
tried a lot) you cannot shift the centered position point to one of the
corners, as you can in CDX3. In my work I follow three methods:
1. Position precisely by specifying the center point
(= left + 0.5*width, left - 0.5*height)
2. Use snap to precise guidelines, where the crossing of a vertical and
horizontal guideline is precisely positioned.
3. (In a.o. ship lines) Position a small circle at the precise point -
snap the relevant node of the object or line to the center of the small
circle. (Indeed I would like the possibility to specify the precise
location of any selected node in an object or line - see my thread on
polar specification about a year ago)
Sometimes I export a drawing into CDX3, do my job, and return to TD12.
I listed already about a year ago in a list of desired features for TDX3
to "merge" the transformation docker possibilities of CDX3 and
TD12.
Shifting the center point as Everton Williams suggested only works for
the center of rotation, not the center of the object.
Kind regards, JoostJ

** TAD -> of course, but very complicated :/

** TAD-> I do this, using precisely crossed guidelines and then align
objects with menu
align and distribute -> specified point (very nice feature)

** TAD -> not only for rotate, but for scale, skew and others transformation

but not for "move"

thanks
TAD

Hope new designer realease will take into account this mentioned problem
