See how you are :-) No wonder I didn't get any.

Not cheap, I'll say!
Hmm, I haven't added up all the variables.
And don't know all the differences. But, assuming (other than FF) the
cost ends up the same or maybe more for the 40D after addons.
I mean I'd seen a post (DPReview) with B&H discount codes (it has
already expired March 27 IIRC). Anyway, had been thinking hold off on
another crop camera buy FF. But, there was a 25% off code for the
Nikon D300. Started a new wishlist on B&H adding in alot of the
accessories. well, it was get'n up to the cost of the D3. ..and I
hadn't finished add'n accessories. Its only money, I'll find a use.

I do have a USB cable and in conjunction with "CaptureControlPro2"
that allows me to use my D40 similarly. Just not wireless nor since
D40 doesn't have LiveView ..no LiveView. Can change camera settings
from the computer, though. I can see some benefit for it in the
house, ah, I mean, my Studio. In the Field, as it is now, w/o
wireless.. seems like alot to lug around and get tangled up.

a little tidious, Ok, alot. One hassle seems to be a need to convert
Deg Minutes Sec 2 Deg decimal. That is if you copy and paste. While
I can change Google Earth to show one or the other.. in the onscreen
viewing of an area. Looking later at the 'Properties' ..its DMS
RoboGEO wants it Deg decimal. Otherwise it prompts me about Regional
Settings for my computer. (There doesn't seem to be a field like that,
in the Regional Settings.) Maybe there's just something I'm missing
there or in RoboGEO's preferences. Could swear the author says he
didn't make provisions for that sorta change within RoboGEO. So,
ended up finding a DMS converter. Copy the DMS from the Google
properties box, Paste into the converter, convert, out comes "deg
decimal" copy, past into RoboGEO

I think I can pop for a GPS unit. I'll have to wait a little bit
though. Just got the Nikkor 200-400mm and paid Income Taxes.
It set me back alittle :-)
The upside of that was I got alot of Airline Mileage. (but, don't fly
anywhere)

Thanks, for confirming that. Hmm, IIRC, I had some trouble
maintaining that GPS info after using PSP 9 to export a smaller
filesize JPG for posting. Always liked PSP 9 for the fact that it
didn't seem to mess-up all of Nikon's metadata upon export. Also like
that it gives you a filesize in KBs Only other app that I know
doesn't mess EXIF up is CaptureNX. But, it doesn't show me a KB size.
End up saving it off, checking the size, in the folder, redo it again
and again till I get it under 200
Oh, and for just a BTW..
I use Forte Agent like you. I have IfranView associated for JPGs.
So, for Newsreader (UseNet) and EXIF peep'n
From the MsgPane right-clik on the image - Launch
IfranView pops up - keyboard short-cut "E"
up comes the EXIF info.
Outlook Express fwiw, I 'OPEN' an attached image (from the attached
field.. again IfranView pops up ..do the same ..press the letter E
If GPS is there... off I can go to Google Earth
I didn't realize that all of my Exif viewers can do that.
(go off to either Google Maps or Google Earth)
PhotoME
IfranView
Kuso Exif Viewer
(it was this one that I didn't know)
He's got a 'beta' KUSO GPS Editor (Chinese only)
tried it anyway, on one JPG, seems to work OK
Oh, manual.. well, don't see a way to add info from a GPS unit
Haven't tried it on a RAW/NEF file, yet.
(only thing that might be comparable is EXIFTool)
(But, can't add non-existing GPS fields nor edit)
(existing if using a GUI with EXIFTool. Never )
(tried it in CommandLine mode. I think a bigger )
(hassle. So this KUSO GPS editor would better )
(If one is gonna do it all manually)
He's also working on a EXIF browser (alpha)
Not sure what's going on there.. but, it'd be nice maybe, if, it has
search capabilities. didn't seem to be DL'able
Anyway, it can be done, all with Freebies.
Hassle being the only cost.
