PSP 9 will NOT run with the new Dell Support upgrade

Thanks to all of you that responded to my thread above. I thought I would
post my outcome in case anyone else runs into this same problem.

I did finally use the System Restore and restored my computer back to 2
weeks ago. that made my PSP work fine ... at least for a little bit. On the
up side, I think I know what is causing my PSP to stop working.

Recently, I was prompted to download the new 'Dell Support' program. When I
did a system restore I got a screen prompting me to download it again. So I
did and as soon as it was finished downloading I went to open my PSP. And
what do you know? I got this message again ... "PSP has stopped working. A

problem has caused PSP to stop working. Windows will close the program and
notify you if a solution is available."! So then I went to add/remove
programs and removed the new updated Dell Support program. My PSP is once
again working! Hopefully Dell will find a fix for this soon.

I just want to quickly point out that it may be "above" for you
but not for others of us who organize posts differently (e.g.
by sender and so on) so it's best to just reply to the original
thread.

Thank you. That's very thoughtful. It's always good to know how
a problem got resolved since one learns something.

Hi Jodi,
I'm running XP SP2 os...on a Dell P4. Are you running Vista?

I installed the new Dell Support Program when it first came out in December.
I also have several versions of PSP installed, including version 9 and they
all run just fine. I do not recall doing anything different when I
downloaded it. Doesn't mean that I didn't...I just don't remember doing
anything differently than I usually would.

Just curious, did you contact Dell about this problem? It may be something
unique to your system. Or perhaps a setting you might need to change in the
new Support Program. I have found their Online Chat Support from their web
site to be excellent.

Hope you find a solution that will allow you to use the Support Program.

Rgds,
Catrix
