File > Preferences > Reset Preferences. Check the item that
says "Make all toolbars/palettes visible and on screen".

PSP 10 on my wife's XP installation.

Materials palette used to show but has disappeared. Toggling the checkbox
next to Materials under the Palette menu (or hitting F6) does nothing.

TIA

Perhaps it was dragged off the screen. Try loading a known good
workspace, the default one if you never saved your own. Try File >
Preferences > Reset Preferences > "Make all toolbars/palettes
