hi all,
please forgive me on two levels here ... i'm new to the
group and i haven't taken part in one of these
newsgroups in years (have been mostly with the yahoo
groups) so i hope i'm doing this right ... AND what
i'm about to ask might be a stupid question, but ...
i LOVE my PSProX ... i don't want to switch to
PhotoShop, yet i see a lot of interesting "actions"
available that would make some of my work a lot easier.
but these seem to be compatible only with PhotoShop.
are there actions somewhere that work with PSProX? i'm
not looking for a lot ... just a couple that would make
my life easier as far as doing more 'vintage' stuff in
a more 'batch' approach.
thank you SO much.

PSP uses scripts written in Python. You can record these,
adapt other people's scripts or write your own. Scripts can
be used to execute PSP commands. However, by including the
appropriate Python modules such scripts can also do operating
system commands, access web pages, connect to other computers
and so on.
There's a whole bunch of scripts you can find by Googling
(see http://www.google.com/search?q=psp+scripts) but here
are a few links (in no particular order) to various kinds
of scripts:

page up again)

I don't know what you mean by "vintage" but attached is a
script I wrote based on Nightingail's suggestions to do a
vintage postcard effect. Unzip it and put it in your
Scripts-Restricted folder under My PSP Files. |

Hi Illona. PSP cannot run Photoshop actions, which are programmed in
Adobe's proprietary extensions to Basic. Instead, PSP calls them
scripts, which you can record yourself or can program in Jasc's
proprietary extensions to Python (now owned by Corel).
To learn about recording scripts as aids to the repetitive parts of
your work, read the chapters in Help > Contents > Automating Tasks.
For scripts written by others that you can download and run, try
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22paint+shop+pro%22+script. Learn
more by subscribing to the scripting newsgroup at
news://cnews.corel.com/corel.PaintShopPro_Scripting.
