OK.

No, you haven't. If you had tried all of the effects you would
have solved your problem by now :)

Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel. See attached. Bear in mind
that it is hard to do lighting effects on a black object since
black objects don't reflect light. I did this effect by apply
Inner Bevel twice, the second time to a duplicate layer with
a light source 180 degrees from the previous one. The layer
opacity was decreased to make that side of the bevel darker.
I did the effect without using a selection but it would work
better on a selection with antialiased edges. |

I see you have posted to the PaintShopPro_older_versions newsgroup.
However, you haven't mentioned which version you have. In PSP 6
the Inner Bevel filter is under Image > Effects > Inner Bevel,
while in PSP 7 and later it is under Effects > 3D Effects > Inner
Bevel. PSP 5 and earlier didn't have Inner Bevel. There you would
have to fake the effect with the Drop Shadow filter. (If you have
PSP 5 it might have come with some Alien Skin plug-ins, which
happened to include an Inner Bevel plug-in.)
