Local Folders

PSP 7 Windows Vista

I have been getting some funny messages now and then telling me a sent 
email cannot load into the sent folder.
Checking I see that under "Local Folders" I have two "Sent"
folders, one 
of which also has a subfolder also called "Sent"

Any sent emails that have loaded have gone into the second Sent folder
(the one without a subfolder)

So I thought the answer would be to delete the apparently unused folder, 
but cannot do.
If I right click on the subfolder I get a Delete option, but clicking on 
this does not delete it.

Whats going on?
