I just took some pictures of our yard under 4' of snow, yesterday there was
only 3'. But for some reason when I renamed them yesterday's photos have
today's date. Is there any way short of changing the date in WinXP of
changing the incorrect date?
Thanks for help on this trivial matter,
Don

Is it in Windows Explorer that you're seeing the date change, or somewhere
else?
Did you rename the images by opening them and saving them under the new
names, or did you do it through Windows Explorer or a file renamer? If
the former, then you modified the image and Windows will show the last date
modified (and you shouldn't open images just to change the name because re-
saving them, especialy as jpgs, reduces the quality of the image). If the
latter then you shouldn't see a date change in Explorer.

There are dozens--nay, hundreds--of utilities for changing the date
of a file, many of them free. A Google search for "windows change
file date" without the quotation marks gets them.

Just wanted to let folks know I just downloaded Attribute Magic from
http://www.programurl.com/attributemagic-free-.htm . It is touted to:
"... view and change file attributes: creation date, last access date and
modify date. Drag&drop supported."
Thanks again for your help...
