| procreate Painter Classic no longer works properly |

I have a copy of the procreate Painter Classic program that came bundled with
the Wacom Intuous 2 program. Today I attempted to open the program, okay.
When attempting to open any files the program shut down. I attempted this
generic fix that was suppose to help and followed instructions yet kept getting
information about unable to locate file for generic fix, although this program
did work for Corel Art Dabbler.
I uninstalled the procreate Painter Classic program and re-installed and now
nothing works, all brushes and settings are gone from program. I checked to
see if the installation placed the folders for brushes etc. in the program
folder when installed, they are all there yet for some reason do not appear when
opening the program. The only thing I get is a screen that looks like this;
What has happened to everything here? Although I use Painter IX, and 8, I
occasionally go back to earlier programs especially for files created with this
program or for some other personal use. I would like to get this program
working properly again.
Can anyone help here, I have no idea what is wrong? I am concluding the
possibility that some recent Microsoft Security Updates for XP may be the
problem since I have not had any Corel program updates since this problem
started to occur. I am working with 1 GB of RAM upgraded from 512 MB yet I
cannot remember if this problem started back then, summer of 2005.

Perhaps because the company releasing that Painter version has long ceased to
exist??

Sorry, have to correct myself: Procreate was a division from Corel, as far as I
can remember. Might be wrong. Anyhow, many years have passed since this
release.

Hi Bernd,
If you're talking about procreate Painter Classic 2, it was released by
Corel.
procreate was the division of Corel that (temporarily) handled Corel's
graphics programs, I believe just during the time Painter 7 was the
current version.
procreate Painter Classic 2 was based on Painter 7, sold by Corel under
the name procreate Painter 7.
