| How to upgrade from Painter 8 to Painter X |
 |

I sold enterprise software for 25 years and cannot for the life of me find
upgrade installation instructions in either the Painter X documentation or
their website.
Do I need to de-install Painter 8 before I upgrade to Painter X or do I just
insert the Painter X CD and run the setup program?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hi Ray,
Painter X and any other version will be installed in its own folder and
you can keep Painter 8 installed as well. I currently have six full
Painter versions and three "lite" Painter versions installed on my
computer and there aren't any conflicts.
Have your Painter 8 serial number handy so if the installation asks you
for the Painter 8 serial number, you can enter it.
You should also have a Painter X serial number that came with Painter X
so enter that when you're asked for the Painter X serial number.
Basically, just do what the installation asks you to do.
Good luck!
