Is there any way to recover a file where you get the message on opening?:
"Photoshop format compression method not supported"
It happened after saving then trying to reopen the file. It was saved in as
a .psd file.

You might try running a script if this happened in the last 24 hours (unless
you have this reset for a longer time span). Run it through the first
time until it closes. Upon second run stop it just before it shuts down
after running the entire script. Save it in another format at that point.
>From menu bar Window/Show Script/ from here click on the small right
pointing arrow on the right hand side of the grey colored bar running across
the top of the window just below the blue bar. There you will see an
option entitled open script. See if the file is listed there and try
running it.
