| Filling options |

Hi everyone,
I hope someone can answer my question. It seems I should have found an
answer pretty easily...but alas, the simplest things are sometimes the most
puzzling ones.
I'm new to Painter, and I have to say I am going *a little* crazy - what an
awesome piece of work!
I am however getting really frustrated with the filling options. Mainly,
with the fact that when filling with a 2 colour gradient, I can't seem to
choose the orientation of the colors. It always fills from right to left.
Needless to say, my beautiful sunset sky looks a little...crooked. Is there
no way of selecting gradient (eg from centre, diagonal, top to bottom?).
Now to remedy this, I've rotated the window, so I can now draw
'upright'...yet when I save, it reverts to its original position, and I
can't find a way to save it in the position I want it to appear. Of course I
drew the background directly on the work area, so I can't simply rotate a
plan...
Help?

Aaaahhhh...
My saviour!
Thank you so much David, I knew there had to be a simple explanation...now
Painter makes COMPLETE sense (well, I mean, as far as gradients go). Much to
learn still!
Thanks a million
Christine

Hi Christine,
I believe you will find all the options you require and more in the
Gradients palette (Window menu> Library Palettes> Show Gradients). To
control the angle of fill for the linear gradient, rotate the red button in
the Gradient Angle Ring (the ring around the large square in the Gradients
palette).
