I also think with 100% certainty that CPT is lossless. As well as CDR
internal storage.
This tractor issue is due to lossy recompression of original data already
compressed with jpeg. I've seen it a few times on poor quality jpegs, so
since then I always check incoming jpegs in per-channel view (where jpeg
blocking is very obvious if it exists) and restore the image by a set of
blue/sharpen/noise per-channel, there are also jpeg healeing plugins/apps
available.
