| Can't open avi movie |

I'm able to create avi movies with photopaint and to open the ones I create.
However, I can't open one I obtained from another source. The error message
I get is:
You must use the control panel to install support for audio and visual
compression.
What control panel does this message refer to? I looked at the add remove
program control panel and didn't see an option for adding support for audio
and visual compression.
I have the academic version. Could that have anything to do with this
problem?
