cannot get it to print in color despite selecting priunter properties and
ptinter properties in control panel--have to copy image and paste into to
other programs--any idea?- all pathes upgrades installed--windows xp

In one of the printing dialog tabs (Misc) there is a setting which asks you
"Output Bitmaps as" make sure you have the correct mode selected!
