My guess is that this has been covered by this group but I'm now just
running into Vista... and the fact that PP12 does not work with it. Is
there a known issue and is there a fix? Thank you!

well, v12 came out long before Vista did. Have you tried running it in Vista
under XP emulation?

Hi Llace,
I wonder whether you are having the same problem I did when I tried to get
my PP10 to work under Vista Home Premium. I asked a question in the "older
versions" newsgroup (29/09/07)and Robert Wilson kindly gave me this vital
advice: switch off User Account Control.
You can get to this by selecting 'User Account Control' in the Control
Panel. Click on the last item in the list which appears: 'Turn User Account
Control on or off'.
This allowed everything to work except the 'help'. When I clicked on 'help'
a pop-up appeared advising me to download a file from Microsoft which would
enable the PP10 'help' to function normally. I obediently followed the
instructions.
There have been plenty of warnings that in taking these two steps I have
'compromised my security', but I have been using PP10 in this way for
several months now and nothing has gone wrong.
Regards
Gareth

Hmm . . . I thought I had it installed, but it seems only DRAW and RAVE are
installed. IIRC, PP worked the same as it did in 2000/XP. I'm pulling-up
another test system over the weekend, so I might be able to get as far as a
(full) test install.
This is all on 64-bit Vista Business, btw.
By what do you mean "fact that PP12 does not work with it"? What are
the
symptoms?
I do know that I was _not_ able to apply the SP to the Suite in Vista (32 and
64) . . . I had to copy the Program Files saved from a previous XP install to
the new Suite install folder to get the SP 'installed' :)

Thanks for the feedback. The symptoms are that it will load and work except
for any brush tool. No response at all when trying to use any brush or tool
that uses brush. Strange. I'll ask my son to try the fixes recommended
above.
