| Corel PhotoAlbum 6.3.3 Minor Glitches |
 |
Sat, 24 Mar 2007 21:10:06 -070 |
Hello everyone. Was wondering if anyone has had this happen to them while
using
Version 6.3.3 of PhotoAlbum, Standard version. After adding keywords for a
while the thumbnails start to go blank and the picture info when i hold the
mouse cursor over a thumbnail shoes information from
a different filename and picture.
If i continue to try and use the program much longer then the mouse/over
info will just stop working completely. If i then shut it down and restart
the progam then everything is fine, but it does get annoying to say the
least when you're trying to catalog over 3000 pics. and have to find your
way back to where you left off Sometimes I am not able to make it back
before it starts going goofy and i have to shut it down again. Then other
times it will run just fine for extended time periods.
I would'nt wish it on anyone, but if anybody has experienced this and found
a cure
I'd sure appreciate the info. Thanks for taking the time.
On a side note:
My camera RAW files for my olympus E-500 are not dispaying properly. Some
file i can view
and some i can't, but most show up as a darkish pattern in the thumbnail and
are not viewable at all.
This of course makes it kinda hard to catalog/W keywords when i can't see
the pic. If there is a fix
for the standard version that's great, but does the Corel PhotoAlbum 6
Deluxe version have this problem
as well? I was kinda thinking of getting the full version for some of the
features I'd like to have.
cheers
Robert

I think you have to delete the PA Cache. I've seen articles about this
before but Corel is very very selective about which articles/newsletters
they select for publishing and how long they keep them up for.
I seem to remember the PA Cache is somewhere in %username&\local
settings\application data\corel - I guess.
Or, try doing a Google search for - delete photoAlbum thumbnail cache or
somesuch.
Perhaps Corel only posts the emails that they will soon answer. I'm not
sure. I hope so for you.
Anyways, I'm off back to Jasc After Shot - at least it Works on Vista - more
than I can say for Photo Album 6.0 :(

Thanks I'll try that out. Hopefully it works. I did find if i resize the
thumbnails then
it starts working for a few minutes until i use the vertical scrollbar.
cheers

Robert,
I noticed the same problem with the icon mouseovers the other day. It is
irritating. I didn't chase it out or anything, I just got the program last
week when I couldn't find my disk for PSPA 5. I'll keep an eye on it,
though.
And I'll watch for the RAW problem, too. In about a week or so, I'll be
dealing with them, too.
Take care and I hope a fix comes along soon.
