xceedftp.dll error w/ Photo Album 6.33

Hello,

I upgraded my OS to Vista last weekend (clean installation). I pulled the 
6.40 patch and interpreted the installation instructions to say:

Install the original 6.0 release, then 6.31, then 6.33 and finally 6.40. I 
did so, but did not reboot between patches (not sure this is relevant). Here 
are the results:

Initial 6.0 release -- Installed fine but wouldn't let me activate the 
program. Photo Album said I need to log in as an administrator to activate 
the program. I am the administrator.
Patch 6.31 -- Installed fine.
Patch 6.33 -- Got the following error at the end: "Error 1904.Module 
C\Windows\system32\XceedFtp.dll failed to register. HRESULT - 2147220473. 
Contact your support personnel."
Patch 6.40 -- Installed fine. But still can't activate the program.

I've installed the application twice and had the same results. I also 
emailed Corel a week ago and they haven't responded. Does anyone know how to 
fix this? Googling the error produces nothing of value. The program worked 
fine with XP Pro.

Great advice! I got through the initial installation, 6.3.1 and 6.3.3 
without any problem. The program activated as well. That said, 6.40 crashes 
about 2 seconds after launching. I've rebooted and download the patch 3 
times and still get the following error:

I think you'll find that this is covered in

Even though that article is talking about Paint  Shop Pro Photo XI, the 
problem is the same. Vista doesn't normally give adminstrators full 
administrative priveleges... aren't you glad that Microsoft has saved you 
from yourself?

Ok, I got it working. Had to deinstall (again), wipe the temp files, clean 
the registry and download the 6.40 update 6 times. I was dropping the file 
on my desktop -- which shouldn't make a difference -- but the last time I 
downloaded it into another folder. Another thing I noticed was the number of 
additional registry keys after the installation -- some referencing earlier 
patches (they weren't there when I cleaned the registry). Interestingly, the 
program ran fine on 6.33. That said, it was probably corrupted.

Anyway, the program is installed, patched and activated.
