| Creating a special bmp file in Pesentations |

While I'm very conversant with WP and QP, it's been a number of years since
I did much of anything in Presentations.
So, I've been bumbling around in Pres 12, and have managed to do what I
wanted, but I'm sure there is a better way.
What I want to do is create a 16x16 pixel bitmap image which I can then
apply a specific color/colors to the various individualpixels. This image
will then be copied, and pasted into the WP button icon editor, to produce a
custom icon for toolbar buttons.
I can handle ths very nicely in Photoshop, and save as a bitmap, which I've
done. But I then have to save the bmp file, open it in Pres, and resave it,
before I can paste it into WP. Possibly some of the file parameters were not
correct to allow me to paste directly from Photoshop.
Up til now, what I've been doing is reopening the original file, editing it
in Pres to a different color et al, and then copying it and pasting it into
WP.
But, I'd like to know the steps necessary in Pres to do the following -
1. Create a 16x16 pixel square image
2. Go into an editing mode where I can set the color for each pixel
individually, and hopefully have an image large enough to work with. When I
tried to zoom the image to see more in Pres, the number of pixels in it got
much larger.
3. Once I do this, I'd like to save it as a Windows bitmap file. Along the
way, I want to put the image on the clipboard to paste into WP.
In essence, I've manged to do the above steps 2 and 3, starting off with a
16x16 image from Photoshop. But I have to believe that there is a smoother
path to follow. I have not been able to do Step 1 - creating the 16x16 pixel
image in Pres.
Any help would be appreciated.

Start with any existing image of the correct size.

Right-Click, Edit, click the Zoom button on the Toolbar (a + in a circle).
To choose a colour: Format|Object Properties

After returning from Bitmap Edit, select the image, and File|Save As...
Edit|Copy or Ctrl-C gets it into the Clipboard.

Hi Roy,
Thanks for the reply.
I had managed to do steps 2 and 3. But I still haven't figured out how to
create a 16x16 pixel image in Pres., which is why I did that in Photoshop,
where it is easy to do.
Then I kept reusing the same 16x16 image, and each time I saved it as a
different filename, after editing it.
Can one create a defined size (say 16x16 pixels) image in Pres?

Hi Roy,
Thanks for the link. I downloaded and looked at it. It can come in handy for
future icon activities.
The question is still open. Can Pres start from scratch, and create a 16x16
blank image? Doing this in Photoshop is very simple of course.
I see references around for 32x32 icons. I didn't think that WP could
display that large an icon. Also, in the icon editor for QP, I recall seeing
more than a 16x16 area available. But the toolbar won't display more than
16x16. What is this all about?
