Is there a way to animate an object in Presentations so that it moves
along a user defined path between two user defined points? e.g. the
effect you would have if you had a road map as wall paper and moved a
bitmap of a car along one of the roads to show where you went. It seems
to be available in Power Point and is definitely available in Open
Office (animate - freeform line) I don't want to use those packages
though because I want Show on the Go or something similar which is not
an option with them.

Pres doesn't have this as such .. but you can do it simply by using
multiple slides (kind of like stop action film).
