Figure Frame in a Table Cell

Figure Frame in a Table Cell
Fri, 15 Feb 2008 16:35:59 -050
Okay, I believe I've done this before but I can't for the life of me
remember how (and as soon as I post this, I'll remember how simple it
probably is).

I have a table that I need to put images in some of the cells. Every time I
try to insert a frame, it kicks the table around. I know if I set the figure
frame to let text pass through it won't do that, but the frame isn't in the
table's cell, it's underneath it. I'm doing a set of galleys, so I know the
figures are going to get kicked around during the next pass, so I'd rather
not go chasing them.

Can it be done? Am I miss remembering something that I did awhile ago?

Thanks,

-w

There may be another (better) solution, but I usually just anchor the frame
in the cell by selecting the frame, clicking on anchor, and clicking in the
table cell.

Oh, and if the frame still isn't correctly vertically aligned, go to Frame
Properties and in the Placement tab, monkey around with the Shift settings
until it's where you need it.

Why is the frame behind the table? Is it a background or something of
the sort?

Kevin's reply starts you off in the right direction. Anchoring the frame
in the table will give you more stability. And then you need to check
the properties of the table, specifically that breaking is allowed.

You may want also to check the margins for the frame as that may be
causing the table to fail. The flow of the text around the frame can
also cause problems as you have discovered with the text-through property.

D'oh, of course!
It's been such a long time since I used anchors... thanks Kevin, that's
exactly what I was looking for.
