I use those Futura fonts all the time, and I think (but am not positive)
that I originally obtained those fonts from the VP8 disk. Have you tried
inserting the VP8 disk, and then having Font Nav search that disk for fonts
and tried installing that way? This usually works for me.

Mysterious missing fonts

Here's an oddity:

This PC (call it PC1) had a spectacular crash a month or so ago, so XP and
all the applications - including Ventura 10 - had to be reinstalled. All is
now OK (yes, I'd got a backup!) but I find that some fonts are now reported
as missing when I use Ventura 10 to load a previously created Ventura file:
including:

FuturaXBlkCnCnIt BT-Normal

FuturaXBlkIT BT-Normal

ZapfDingbats BT-Normal

Palatino Normal

These are the names Ventura uses, rather than their 'true' names.

The odd thing is that on my other PC (PC2) the same VP file loads perfectly.

I've tried installing the fonts from PC2 to PC1 - both the TrueType and
Adobe ones. I suspected that an old version of Ventura might have installed
a load of other fonts in the past, so I even installed Ventura 8 on PC1, but
no luck!

Any ideas of where these fonts may have come from in the first place and how
I can get them back again?

Thanks Kevin - that's where they were!
