Just out of curiosity -- what happens when you _print_ that document?

I get the same thing occasionally. I print to the Acrobat 7 driver, and it
hasn't happened to me since I upgraded from Acrobat 5 about 6 months ago,
but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Others here have said that it seems
to happen more often when they use the Acrobat driver.
I gave up trying to figure out why it happens. It's a bug in Ventura, and
when I notice it (I check final printer's PDFs carefully just for this) I
just reprint that one page and insert it into the PDF.

In my experience, this is not consistently reproducible. IOW, when you print
a lot of pages (to file or to a printer, doesn't matter) occasionally one or
two will come out blank, or partially blank. But if you go back and print
again with all the same conditions (same number of pages, same printing
options turned on, etc.) the previously blank pages will print just fine, or
different pages will print blank.

I too have blank pages when Distilling large publications. I just reprint
the missing page(s) then use the Replace Pages option in Acrobat.

| Missing pages in a PDF after distilling a VP8 PS file |
 |

I know this is a difficult scenario to diagnose. I have a long
publication in VP8 and very often I produce a print-to-disk PS file
(using the HP 4/4M PS driver) to get it distilled through Acrobat
Distiller 5. After distilling it, I discover that there is a missing
page in the middle of the output. What I find is a page with the
footnote separator line (and no more) instead of the full page. Has
anyone experienced anything similar? I suspect that the problem is on
the VP8 side because when I am navigating the file (in VP8) sometimes a
page delays its appearance on the screen (normally, the offending page)
for a couple of seconds. There is nothing special on that page (or any
page) except text (800K), many footnotes (470) and index markers. I keep
my texts external in ANSI format. Any comment?
