>From the FAQ:
------------------------------
Periodically, it may be necessary to restore the application's
workspace to its default settings. To restore the default settings for
Ventura 10, do the following:
1. Press and hold down the F8 key.
2. Launch Ventura 10.
3. A message dialog should appear asking if you wish to "..overwrite
the current workspace with the factory default."
4. Select Yes
After selecting "Yes", Ventura 10 will continue to load with the
application's original workspace settings.
Note: Any workspace customization changes made prior to resetting the
default workspace will be lost; including toolbar and menu item
changes. Thus, you should export your Workspace to a backup location
after significant customization changes.

Sorry 'bout that -- this *was* added in V10. And others have already
suggested all the other tricks I would try -- except perhaps a
reinstall.

I apologize for re-raising this issue but it's bothering me and I'm
hoping that some one here will have experienced the same thing or know a
way to solve it..
Suddenly, for no apparent reason, my rulers only show inch increments.
By that I mean that there is no half inch mark, no quarter inch
mark...no way to position a guideline dragged from the ruler with any
kind of accuracy.
Is there a reset key (as there is in Corel Draw) to bring the user
interface back to the factory settings?
I am using Ventura 8.559 on WinXPPro with service pack 2.
I have 2 gig of DDR ram and run a anti malware program regularly.
Please please help if you can...this problem is quite recent (I have
not installed any new software) and I cannot figure out what is wrong.
thanks...

thank you for taking the time Werner.
I did as you suggested...but no joy.
Any other ideas?
I can use Ventura "as is" but it's inconvenient and disturbing to
me--I've used this program for many years (10?) and this is the first
real problem I've had with it.

Werner,
Yes, a new folder was created. I didn't check to see what was in it but
it was there.
I will dig out my Ventura CD and follow the steps you have outlined below.
I'll let you know what the outcome was.
Thank you again...
