| footnotes in VP3 |

I would be grateful for some help. I need to reprint several books typeset
years ago in VP3, but there is a problem with some footnotes which, for no
reason at all, appear on subsequent pages. Is there any method for remedying
this?
Thank you very much.

Do you mean that the same footnote is repeating? I think I remember
something like this, which was probably why I stopped using footnotes. If I
had to guess, I would say that it was caused then by the footnote callout
landing close to or on the page break, but it was a long time ago. If that's
the problem, the fix is to force the callout to land further away from the
page break. Lose a line or gain a line.
I still have VP3 going here (although I haven't had occasion to use it for a
couple of years now), so if you want me to take a look at the live files I'd
be happy to.
