Allthough our main dtp application is vp10, we do use vp 4.2 for some legacy
jobs. Thanks to Jim Harts guide, we can run 4.2 under XP, but not under
Vista.
Has anyone tried that with success?

I am not aware of anyone who's tried that yet.

Virtual machines are very exciting because of this -- it offers a way to run an
OS even if you can't find compatible hardware -- which could extend the life of
Ventura even if Corel won't.

Just for the record:
VP 4.2 now runs under XP Pro under Virtual PC under Vista.
Not the most straight construction, but it works!
